The Banks of England £10 note and the Britannia Appeal

Welcome to BanksofEngland.org the home of the Gordon Banks Monument Appeal 2008.

Gordon Banks is still considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of soccer.

In 1966 he helped England win the World Cup and in 1970 he created one of the great iconic moments in World Cup history with ‘That Save’ from Pelé. But his positive influence extended beyond the football field, as you will learn.

This website is about celebrating the life and career of Gordon Banks.

A spectacular monument is already in progress and Pelé and Archbishop Desmond Tutu have agreed to unveil it on 12 July 2008.
